The restaurant has been renamed as a tribute to bone-fishing legend, Israel "Bonefish Folley" Rolle, whose natural charm has been bringing tourists back to the island for many years. Minister Wilchcombe, who is also the Member of Parliament for the West End , marked the occasion as 'Bonefish Folley Day', noting that this is the first time in the history of The Bahamas that a restaurant at an outstanding establishment has been named to honour an individual. Ambassador John Rood reminisced about his first visits to the resort when Bonefish Folley taught him everything he knew about bonefishing.
Bonefish Folley's Bar & Grille sits with a commanding view of Old Bahama Bay 's expansive marina. As welcoming as Bonefish Folley himself, the newly renamed eatery beckons patrons hungering for native Bahamian cuisine. Black and white photos of its namesake, "Bonefish Folley", hang prominently from the restaurant's walls. Perhaps the most interesting characteristic of this restaurant will be Bonefish Folley himself, as he continues to charm guests of Old Bahama Bay , regaling them with fish tales. On the menu are delectable dishes incorporating indigenous ingredients with dependable favorites. Customers can enjoy signature dishes such as 'Siboney Conch Chowder' and 'Bonefish Folley's Lobster Salad.'
Says Bob Kramm, Chief Operating Officer, Old Bahama Bay Resort & Yacht Harbour , "Bonefish Folley is an accomplished fisherman whose easy-going charm and love of people continue to attract visitors the world over to Old Bahama Bay . Renaming the resort's restaurant after him is our way of paying homage to this extraordinary individual and living legend."
