GINN RESORTS APPOINTS BOB VAN BERGEN GENERAL MANAGER OF GINN SUR MER

CELEBRATION, Fla., Jan 9, 2006 -- Bob Van Bergen has been appointed general manager of Ginn sur Mer, a 2,000 acre luxury resort community currently under development by Ginn Resorts at the West End of Grand Bahama Island. 
He is primarily responsible for overseeing the management of the resort’s development, as well as operations for Old Bahama Bay, a luxury resort adjacent to the future site of Ginn sur Mer. Ginn Resorts recently announced the signing of a management agreement with West End Resort Limited that puts the company in control of the resort operations, sales and development of Old Bahama Bay.

Prior to this role, Van Bergen served as the general manager for Ginn Reunion Resort, a 2,300 acre luxury golf community in Orlando, Fla. and Ginn Hammock Beach, an ocean front resort in Palm Coast, Fla.  Van Bergen was instrumental in establishing Ginn Hammock Beach as one of the top destinations on Florida’s east coast. 
Before joining Ginn Resorts, Van Bergen served as general manager for Destination Hotels and Resorts where he was responsible for managing several of the company’s communities from Colorado to South Carolina.  He has also worked for Aircoa and Radisson Hotel Corporation.  Van Bergen has successfully opened three Four Diamond properties, including the Boardwalk Inn at Wild Dunes in South Carolina.

Van Bergen received a degree in business management from Kent State University. He recently relocated to Grand Bahama Island with his wife.  The couple has three grown children.
