New York, NY, May 1, 2002-
Old Bahama Bay, a resort, residential and marina community
nestled in West End, Grand Bahama Island, has been named
to the 2002 Conde Nast Traveler's Hot List of new
hotels, as announced by General Manager, Michel Neutelings.
The Conde Nast Traveler
Hot List, now in its sixth year, is considered one of
the industry's most coveted recognitions, as it acknowledges
hotels and resorts for design, service, and ambience.
Each year, the publication dispatches an anonymous field
of reporters to evaluate new hotels and resorts representing
every category from inexpensive to exclusive. This year,
Old Bahama Bay was included in the final cut of 52 properties
selected for their 'rare confluence of style and substance
which defines an instant classic.'

In its annual Hot List issue
which hits newsstands in May, Old Bahama Bay was sited
for its design, ambience and gracious staff, 'Old Bahama
Bay is so serene that hummingbird serenades and the waves
lapping at the shore are the only sounds you'll hear.
The 24-rooms-set in four pastel-hued, Bahamian-style buildings
facing the Atlantic-are large, airy, and handsomely furnished,
each with a veranda overlooking the beach. The staff are
gracious beyond belief and as eager to guide you to one
of the many fine snorkeling spots as they are to rig one
of the free catamarans or point you in the direction of
a secluded spot on the five-mile stretch of beach.'
Set on oceanfront
property, in the historic village of West End, at the
tip of Grand Bahama Island, only 56 miles east of Palm
Beach, Florida, The Inn at Old Bahama Bay, offers privacy
and relaxed ambiance in an out-island experience within
a gated residential and marina community within close
proximity of the U.S.
The Marina at Old Bahama
Bay is a full-service marina situated within a spectacular
oceanfront resort and residential community, and is an
official Bahamian Port of Entry with on-site immigration
and customs. It is one of the few Bahamian harbors lit
for night navigation. The marina offers 72 slips and an
array of services and amenities to boaters, including
electricity, water, fuel (diesel, gasoline, oil), pump-out,
24-hour dock security, chandlery with sundries.
Direct flights are available
into Freeport from Charlotte, Miami, New York and other
major U.S. cities.
