Old Bahama Bay Resort & Yacht Harbour is proud to announce three October festivities not to be missed, plus a special package including two nights in a junior suite and two tickets to the Halloween Costume Ball. Old Bahama Bay succeeds in making the spookiest month of the year delightful with these three lively celebrations. Always brimming with touches of Bahamian culture, the Old Bahama Bay experience never ceases to be unique and joyful.
Croon to the Moon, a combined Columbus Day and full moon celebration and Bahamian Ting-Um, recognizing the Discovery Day of the Bahamas, lead up to the spectacular Halloween Costume Ball, where patrons will enjoy dinner and dancing on a majestic beach as well as the Best Costume competition.
Croon to the Moon
The festivities commence with Croon to the Moon on Saturday, October 7th. This event features live Junkanoo entertainment, a modernized style of music inspired by a street parade that sweeps across the Bahamas twice a year as well as a “Salute to Motown” performance by the resort’s own West End Love Train, a fun-loving music group consisting of 15 staff members. Other features include cocktails and dinner, Karaoke, crab races for the kids, and “Smores” at the Bonfire. The cost of this event is $49.95 per adult and $24.95 per child 12 years old and under.
Bahamian Ting-Um
The Bahamian Ting-Um will be held the following Saturday on October 14th. This event, celebrating the Discovery Day holiday in The Bahamas, features a “Bahamian Fusion” buffet dinner of native Bahamian cuisine, as well as Karaoke, crab races, a live cultural “Salute to Bahamian Music Legends”
show with West End Love Train, the resort’s very own musical group, live Junkanoo entertainment and a live
Rake & Scrape band. This event costs $49.95 per adult and $24.95 per child 12 years old and under.
Halloween Costume Ball
Old Bahama Bay will finish off the October festivities with their Halloween Costume Ball on October 28th. This event features a special package including a two-night stay in a junior suite, the Friday night reception and two tickets to the Costume Ball for $549. At the ball, guests will enjoy a night of dancing and disguise in line with Halloween’s mischievous spirit. The evening begins with an exquisite dinner on the beach, with musical accompaniment by Wilfred Solomon and The Magnetics. Guests can either bring their own costumes or rent one at the resort for the Best Costume competition, after which everyone is invited to fritter the night away dancing on the beach. To join the ball without the package is $50 per adult.
Situated on the western-most tip of Grand Bahama Island, just 56 miles from Palm Springs, Florida, Old Bahama Bay features 49 beachfront spacious guestrooms and suites, an oceanfront pool, restaurants, massage pavilion and the region's finest fishing, diving, snorkeling and boating activities. Guests’ accommodations include 43 beachfront deluxe rooms, and six one and two-bedroom suites, each with stunning 120 square-foot ocean-view terraces. Every suite is fully appointed with elegant Bahamian-Colonial décor and custom-designed Island Plantation-style furnishings and lighting, rich mahogany woods and textured leathers for the interiors while the exteriors feature tropical pastels and exquisite landscaping. All guest suites are filled with little luxury extra touches, such as Frette linens and terry cloth robes, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, DVD and CD players (with movie and music libraries), custom-designed furnishings, cable televisions, fax and modem lines and much more.
In December 2006, Old Bahama Bay will add 24 king-bedded junior suites, bringing the total number of guestrooms to 73, with 67 junior suites and 6 two-bedroom suites. Half of the new junior suites will be oceanfront, while the other half will be ocean view.
